Filling Station - Ireland

Project

Filling Station

Site

Belfast

Hydrogen is a 'green' energy vector produced from renewable sources and generated by electrolysis.

The project in question was commissioned with the aim of developing the first hydrogen refuelling station for around 50 buses, eliminating CO2 and general greenhouse gas emissions from public transport in the surrounding area.

Client Request

Daughter station

  • Max suction pressure: 450 bar
  • Max discharge pressure: 450 bar
  • Maximum flow rate (@ 450 bar): 1,000 Ncm/h, meaning around 90 kg/hour

Idro Meccanica Solution

We offered a compression solution featuring in:

A flexible and efficient compression unit capable of compressing and distributing hydrogen. The twin Idro Meccanica TDH85 model, coupled with two electric motors of 18.5 kW each, is top-in-class in terms of efficiency and flexibility: the wide pressure range (4 to 450 bar) in which it operates, the low number of cycles and the very low energy consumption translate into low total cost of ownership (TCO) over the entire life cycle of the product.

A “green” solution: the Distance piece at atmospheric pressure and the two sets of seals on the gas and oil side ensure that the gas handled is pure, without any contamination.
